What kind of mood are you in today?

I was super cranky all day.

Well, the first 20 minutes of my day I was pretty aloof... and that's when everything went downhill.

I sort of dawdled when I was getting ready this morning and I ended up not leaving the apartment until 10 minutes before I was supposed to be catching a train.

I live 10 minutes from the train station.

Of course the entire drive people kept pulling out in front of me or I would catch a light that I never catch. Then when I had finally parked and I was speed-walking into the station I realized I didn't have any change.

I whipped out a 100NT bill and shoved it into the change machine. It took me about two or three tries before I realized you have to push a button selecting whether or not you want 10NT coins or 50NT coins.

As I was going over to the automatic ticket machines I saw the train pull into the station... By the way, it's on the platform furthest away from the station entrance.

Luckily at this point I could purchase my ticket with my eyes closed because I did it all last week so I smashed all the necessary buttons and willed the damn machine to print my ticket faster.

Then I sprinted.

I'm pretty sure the guys who monitor tickets on the platform thought I was trying to skip out on paying.

I ran down platform one to the stairs. I scurried down the stairs (which are a little steep and not exactly conducive to running) then I flew passed all the people coming off of the train that I needed to be on.

I literally jumped threw the doors as they were closing behind me.

Talk about a morning work out.

Panting, I looked around self-consciously and then calmly — well, as calmly as possible when your lungs are gasping for air — found a seat.

Speeding to catch a train and getting unexpected exercise is definitely not the way to start your morning. Then little things just continued to annoy me all day, especially when driving.

I swear every third vehicle I came near pulled out in front of me. It was Taoyuan's mission to run me over today.

I tried to make it better by listening to music that usually puts me in a good mood and I went to buy groceries and tried to think about all the amazing food I would be making.

I  totally forgot to mention that I went to the dentist yesterday. It cost me the equivalent of $3 USD to get my teeth cleaned.

I honestly thought I had cavities because I've been having some sensitivity around a couple of my teeth, but the dentist said that I have a perfectly healthy mouth.

It was really weird because she insisted on speaking to me in both Chinese and English. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but when it comes to matters of my health, I would prefer to get down to business in my first language.

Anyway, I mention this because the cleaning took all of 20-30 minutes and now my gums hurt. Anyone else ever had their gums hurt after a teeth cleaning? I honestly can't remember, but I don't like it at all.

On top of that, the weather is starting to get warm again (which I honestly invite) but it has stirred up something that is driving my sinuses nuts. I've been sneezing my face off all day and it's making my throat a little sore and my head hurts.

I know, I'm complaining too much, but I've had sore gums, crazy allergies and an over all bad day today.

I guess this means the rest of the week can only get better right?
